Welcome to teaching

A selection of newly-qualified teachers were welcomed into the profession at the National Probation Event held by GTC Scotland in June.

The event celebrates the Teacher Induction Scheme and is an opportunity for former probationer teachers to share the professional issues they faced as they worked to gain the status of fully-registered teachers. Speakers at the event also included Minister for Learning and Skills, Alasdair Allan MSP, and GTC Scotland Chief Executive, Tony Finn. Each teacher was presented with their certificate for full registration which allows them to teach in Scotland's schools. The total cohort of newly-qualified teachers in Scotland this year will be nearly 2,700 people.
