Thanks to all those who were able to go to the National Lecture. We're preparing a video of the event to be hosted on our site shortly.

For those of us not fortunate enough to hear Richard Holloway's National Lecture will it be possible for the text of the lecture to be available on line.
August 2011 Issue 21 has only a very brief note about the event.

Just read issue 41 and thought the Mike Russell interview was very disappointing and below your usual standard. I hope the description of the latest deal for teachers as 'not ideal' was some kind of poor attempt at humour. The government have forced a fundamental review of the 21st century agreement and CfE, Donaldson and McCormac will amount to a game-changing measure. You should have got a lot more out of Mike Russell given what he has in mind for the teaching profession. What about some intelligent political debate instead of sunday magazine type features?

I was delighted to read the article about the stimulating report on hidden disabilities by Kirsten and Caroline which was supported by the Teacher Researcher Programme. The programme allows teachers the opportunity to carry out research with the aim of improving learning and teaching, whilst also supporting teacher professionalism. For further details on how to apply for the Teacher Researcher Programme, contact ian.matheson@gtcs.org.uk
