The 2009 Scottish School Magazine Competition, run by Periodical Publishers Association, Scotland (PPAS), is now under way.
The competition is aimed at improving literacy skills as well as encouraging pupils to highlight their design, business, photographic and online talents. It also aims to encourage young people to consider the magazine industry as a career choice. And the competition is gathering momentum, with a similar competition being launched to all secondary schools in the rest of the UK at the end of next year.
If schools have been thinking about creating a school magazine, then this will be an opportunity to get started.
If schools already produce a magazine, newspaper, newsletter or on online version, PPAS want to hear from them and to see the edition of which they are most proud.
In order to take part in the Scottish School Magazine Competition, schools are invited to register online now by visiting http://www.ppa.co.uk and selecting the competition logo.GTC Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh EH12 6UT | Tel: 0131 314 6000 |
